It's the Numbers!

Cal is currently running around the apartment pulling books off the shelves and keeping up a constant chorus to himself of: "One, two, three, four, five...one, two, three, four, five..." Sometimes he skips "four", sometimes he throws in a "nine". It's makin' me proud and drivin' me spare, in equal measures.
Heard back from BFI, in record time. Unfortunately, somebody's already doing Goodfellas, and my contact thinks they'll do Raging Bull either next, or long before they do Gangs. So I've already thanked her and asked if I can pitch some Canadian titles; Maddin's Tales from the Gimli Hospital comes to mind, mainly because the British like Maddin (for a long time, one could only find his works as imports/on PAL). And he's a pretty damn easy interview, too, as I recall...though I think I'd have to distinguish myself from, say, Caelum Vatnsdal--the last guy to do a Maddin book--by not simply accepting everything Maddin says as the unvarnished truth. Research and second opinions, that's my creed.;)
Anyhow, dinner's on. More later.
