This new Livejournal thing is, indeed, VERY odd...I particularly "like" (har, har) the way that it extends so far down the top of the page it completely cuts off the window that allows me to title entries. So y'all will just have to do without my hilarious and super-apt sur-commentaries for the nonce, or possibly forever.

Anyhow: I'm tired, and today only one person showed up for my first class (plus two for my second, thought to be fair, I was expecting that). I've also officially moved past the part where I used to find the elderly Sri Lankan man who never understands a Goddamn word I say in class--and always asks me nonsensical questions in the halls, afterward--sort of vaguely amusing, and gone straight to the phase where I routinely greet everything he blurts out with: "Alfred, what the HELL are you on about? No, I'm not going to discuss that. Just do what I told you to, and if you have problems figuring out what that was, ask somebody else...somebody who was listening."

In other news, the person I wrote "The Jacaranda Smile" "for" doesn't want it--big surprise, I'm basically zero for two there, at this point--so I need to start shopping it elsewhere. Mom read it, wasn't offended, and had some good advice for the impending rewrite, which I intend to take. Next week is shaping up fairly well, in that I finally have an official (and paid!) meeting to start developing the Erotic Horror Screenplay Project Outline. I also broke through some sort of cognitive barrier with Lilim that involves sort of re-imagining it as an episode of Smallville--SORT of. Not really. But it's working nicely in terms of generating plot and clarifying character(s), nevertheless.

And finally: Tomorrow, Steve and I (and Cal) will drop by the Serial Diners, since they're not only in our neighborhood but also at our favorite restaurant, the Hot House. Hope to see some of you there.

You can change the crappy lovely new format back: go to http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/ and pick the older style.

I did this tout de suite.

And also I noticed you're on the Canadian Specfic syllabus over at York this year. Congrats!

I am? Truly weird! Where would I find out what of mine they're studying, exactly?

Here's the class proper -- I'm not sure how to find syllabi and stuff at York. Could always e-mail Allen?

(I found out because he was at the Martin Springett concert last night and I peeked at his syllabus.)

Yeah, he's got his Reading List up, and I don't know where the hell anything of mine would be coming from. I've never been published in Tesseracts, for example.
