handful_ofdustGood stuff for today: New Murder by Death album (Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon) has been brought to my attention, and it's great. I also finished up Rrrrrrreeeeeeeveeeennnnnge! Season One, then caught the Season Two opener via Rogers on Demand; yeah, I'm officially hooked. (One of my favourite moments last night was Nolan showing up with two Cosmos at the Graysons' party, as though partially to match with Amandemily's dress and partially to troll the mundanes around him, like: "Look, I'm dressed as business casual as you've ever seen me, but I'm still getting girl-drink drunk! LOL!" My other favourite was when Nolan hugged Jack hello, which Jack initiated, then got carried away and smelled Jack's neck, at which point you can see Jack thinking: Should I object? Nope, whatever--it's Nolan.) Bad stuff for today, carried over from yesterday: Though the crick in my shoulder which prevented me from doing BodyCombat (I did treadmill for an hour instead, followed by YogaFit) is much better, it isn't actually gone, and will need to be managed carefully. But hey, what else is new?
OTOH, my contributor's copies of A Season in Carcosa (Miskatonic River Press) and Magic (Solaris) came, and they're both gorgeous books. And I wrote 500+ words on something completely different, which I hope to pursue further today. It's called "A Feast for Dust", and it's that sequel to "Sown From Salt" I've been contemplating, so my thought is that it'll be another potential piece for the Hexslinger e-book (ha, ha). And better yet, maybe it'll break me through the block on "Scarlet Town", so I can finally finish up that motherfucker, and move on.
Talking about Warren Zevon yesterday was a lot of fun. But now I need to concentrate on my Beyond the Black Rainbow column, so I will bid you all adieu; I'm going to see if I can find an interview with Panos Cosmatos, stealth Canadian. Or some indication of what he might be doing next, at least, because damn, that dude is talented.
