handful_ofdustSo: The great part is that not only does Cal's dentist agree with his orthodontist, he's actually willing to refer Cal to a core-located oral surgeon who he usually sends older kids to, which means we don't have to worry about getting Cal up to Thornhill to be sedated and traumatized. And even better, just as I was checking the panoramic x-ray referral and realizing it would have to take place in a building I could walk to from Drs Rubinoff and Simon's offices, the secretary very nicely volunteered to phone right then and ask if they had any openings.
She did, they did, I walked Cal down there, and after a rehearsal, he did perfectly. That was hard, too--he had to stand still, not talking, with his hands on two handles, his chin on a stand and a rod in his mouth, while a gigantic machine making a very loud tone circled him completely not once, but twice. After, I told him how incredibly proud I was of him, and bought him Lay's Stax.
And today is his music lesson, so this is three trips in a row. Could be worse, though--he loves music. The hardest part is going to be telling him we can't go to the park afterwards, since I have to be back for 5:00 PM in order to eat before working out from 6:30 to 8:30. Hmmm. Maybe I can pick something up on the way and eat it while he's in there, so we can get at least twenty minutes of frenzied sliding action...
Before that, however, I need to Input All Notes (the default) and concentrate on two things: Finishing the Prologue to Experimental Film, while also roughing out a brand-new Hexslinger short story for the Tree of Bones hardback--yes, we'd thought the supplemental material would be "Sown From Salt", but then this poked its head up, and CZP is just as happy to switch streams. As I am, frankly.
Man, it's nice to be feeling useful.
