Da Grind-March

A sick headache last night knocked me out early, but I'm trying to make up time and wordage. It's going...okay, I guess. A lot of what I'm doing is simple dialogue conversion, but even that produces pages.
In the meantime, it occurs to me that $1,500--the reward offered for information leading to the capture of "Elijah Metzger"--would have been an incredible amount of money in 1927 (there was a full-length movie made that year whose entire budget was $1,500, for example). Certainly enough to pull a restaurant/speakeasy out of the financial fire, at any rate, at least for a little while. I wonder if anybody might think about that, now and then. (Not Viktor, probably, even now. But Mitzi's a practical lady, and Zib's in jail, facing time if he doesn't come up with something to trade with, whether to Dom Drago or somebody else.)
This is mainly brought to you by the fact that Tracy J. Butler just updated her Tumblr to say shit, son, she's been sick as hell, so there isn't likely to be any sort of update anytime soon. A perfect capper to a perfect year. (Pouts.)
