So this is interesting--to me, anyways. (http://fail-fandomanon.livejournal.com/23077.html?thread=102624293#t102624293) It sort of points up some of the things I was talking about before, and I agree that there's a problematic slanting inherent in the terms themselves, ie the implication that "affirmational" fandom is full of people so slavishly devoted to canon that they can't see/process any of the more dicey elements in either their squee of choice or the system that produced and perpetuates it. Whereas "transformational" fans are, by definition, so much hipper and cooler, with their meta and their author-is-dead, once-you-release-it-it-belongs-to-me, "I am not your bitch, George R.R. Martin"-type attitude.
Meanwhile, I'm at least 3,000 words into Chapter Twelve, which is moving forward in neat-o ways--Sophy Love POV, which is a very different thing--and...at least 5,000 words into Lackadaisy fandom. Most recently, I found myself going: "Yeah, wait, Viktor's wrecked-ness is really going to cut down on sexy-times in Part Three of 'Lackadaisy Home Visit'...or is it? Because if Mordecai ends up volunteering to do all the work and taking control in that fussy OCD way of his, that'll go really well with some of the other psychological/relationship stuff I'm trying to explore this series, overall..."
Cartoon cats, man. Cartoon effin' cats.
Otherwise: Very, very cold in Toronto. Annoyingly so. Things have suddenly turned into winter around here, over the course of maybe a week and a half. But I'm on track, cartoon cats aside, and feeling very revitalized. The slog continues.

Cartoon cats, man. Cartoon effin' cats.
Well, most of the time.
