He Put The Fish-Whammy On Her!

Ah yes, it's so nice to have finally relocated Invasion, for all that those stupid bastards at Ch. 8 made me miss the all-important: "Hey, did you guys know you're alien hybrids?" reveal speech from Russell to Mariel (and Tom, apparently). So if anybody in the States (or otherwise) could hook me up with tape(s) of the missing lacunae, I truly would love you forever--no pressure. Except, of course, for the fact that I really, really, really wanted to see that.;)
Meanwhile,
agincourtgirl thinks that my next step towards world domination should be to write something designed specifically for a non-genre market, like the New Yorker. I think my ever getting accepted there is about as likely as a rain of blood and toads myself, but hey, why not? God knows, it'd widen my fan-basee something fierce. Not to mention that I need to finish a few more 5,000 and below (ha!)-type pieces anyhow, if only because I truly do need to get some shit out the door and published by the end of this year. She thinks "Every Angel" sounds suitable, so I'll probably switch to that once "Niemand" and "Dead Voices On Air" are done; the latter's suddenly woken up in a really fun way, which I didn't see coming, but certainly do appreciate. The increased exercise--along with getting into the habit of taping shows for later, rather than watching them right when they first screen--finally seems to be paying off.
Watched The Fog 2005 last night. It was okay for perhaps the first seventy-five per cent--not spectacular or brilliant, just competent and occasionally interesting--but fell completely apart by the end, when one of the main character abruptly not only figured out they were the reincarnation of a ghost's dead lover, but then (through what, the black magic equivalent of transubstantiation?) actually became a ghost themselves, without having to go through the messy business of dying first. Which made me go whaaaa'?...like: You didn't think it was enough to use CGI to break the rules of physics, you had to go on and break the rules of metaphysics, too? The sheer freaky disconnect of it all led me to wonder whether this might have been a last-minute decision, a "it looks soooo cooool!" sort of thing, but to be frank, I'm not so intrigued that I feel like turning on the commentary track; if nothing else, that'd mean I'd have to rewatch the whole thing in order to hear it, wouldn't it? And I basically can't be bothered.
I'm also ruminating on other ways to boost my circulation, since the new website may be finished soon. But more on all that later.
