...and still with the creamy discharge from both eyes, which is worrying. But the mucus in general seems a bit better, and I did at least make the calls I needed to make: Ms. Cervic at St. Mike's, Artbooks to set up tax appointment, Dr. Horenfeldt to set up this year's first dental hygeine visit. I'd also very much like to find out if I can swap this stupid cellphone for one which A) works and B) will keep on working even if I let it run out of charge, because this one's been dead for a week or so and nothing I do seems to help, but I just haven't had the fucking spoons to do anything about it thus far.

Verrry slowly, I'm also beginning to make plans to update Music at Midnight and the rest. I think the best idea would probably be to compile a list of reviews, articles and interviews available on the 'Net, with links, and use those for the Wikipedia update. I'd also appreciate anyone who's been playing along at home's help in terms of setting up a Hexslinger 'verse article--stuff on character, interaction and themes would be wonderful, because I (funnily enough) have difficulty tracking that stuff in my own work. I also need to compile an up-to-date bibliography of my stuff in general, which will help with expanding the main article to include things like juvenilia and The Hunger.

I have three upcoming short story markets to brainstorm stuff for--something based on the King in Yellow mythos of Robert W. Chambers, something based on the work of Thomas Ligotti (Poe meets Lovecraft meets Clar Kash Ton with interstitial foolery, here I come), and something based on Cronenbergian/Re-Animator-style body horror. This is where I would benefit from having a Sirenia Digest of my own to be forced to write for, I think; no effing around, when the deadline is always on the table. And then there's all the stuff I've been watching recently that I should probably talk about just a little, including last night's re-watch of E. Elias Merhige's Suspect Zero: Not a good movie per se, but a damnably resonant one. And very, very interesting.

It would make a lot of sense to do some sort of Lilim-related thing for the body horror, since that's the most body horror thing I've ever done. But at the moment, the closest-to-completion Lilim project I have on the go is "Those Others", which is Lilim vs. Amazons...not exactly contemporary. Still, does it have to be? I should ask.

Okay, all right: I need to take a bath, desperately. Then work. Something will get done today, if I have to drag the words out of myself letter by Goddamn letter.

Did I ever send you the actual screenplay Lilim? I'd be interested to know what you thought.

Some days it's so very difficult to write. I have literally cut brush with a machete from sunup to sundown. I always thought writing was much more difficult than that.
