A flood of crap: I had to bow out of the impending Scriptwriting for Animation course at Ryerson, and then (amazing!) more than three people actually signed up, so the course supervisor is peppering me with panicked emails: Don't you know anyone who can sub? No, seriously, ANYONE? To which all I can answer is: Um...no. I've been out of the industry for five years now, and it wasn't like I knew a lot of people before, either. Thanks a million, she writes back; that's the end of that, I think.
Meanwhile, the picking and scratching continues, vis a vis the Rope... outline. There's three different Big Brawl endings thus far, all of which need to be conflated into one action-sequence with psychological legitimacy. I'll be juggling an insanely huge cast by then, and I'm not sure I want to kill most of them, though some are obviously going down. But although this is all necessary, I feel like I haven't done any genuine writing for a week, and guess what? I haven't.
Also, the fridge is toast, according to the Whirlpool guy who came today. Fan's burnt out, coolant system's not "functioning optimally". It'd cost $750 to fix it and $400 to $500 to replace it, so I think I know what I'll be doing; this on top of everything else, of course. Of course.
Oh, my life is a glorious medley of song. And now I need to go pick up the boy, who pooped in the toilet yesterday, BTW. All on his own, at his own speed. I'll believe it when I see it again (and again), but it's still pretty frickin' good.;)
