Woke up this morning out of a complex and stirringly "real"-seeming dream in which I was watching an Adam Lambert movie--one of those "my wacky backstage life!"-type pseudo-exposes where a performer plays a Hollywoodized version of themselves. It was chock full of inappropriate cameos--Kate Winslet as his harried British manager, Matt Damon as his shirtless jock-Twink bodyguard--and Lambert himself was very charming and charismatic, but overacting/mugging for the camera horribly every chance he got. There were musical sequences, chase scenes, A Hard Day's Night-style absurdist comedy, even a brief martial arts sparring match. Oh, and many of the other Idols were in it, too; Alison Irahita had a part as the naive young intern who gets caught up in his whirlwind of happy decadence and frees herself from her parents' expectations, becoming a pop-punk princess. When I woke up, I turned to Steve and said:
"That's the weirdest aftertaste I've had from a dream in quite some time."
"How so?" He asked.
"Well...the last thing I remember is wanting to say: 'Oh, that's ridiculous! Are you really going to believe that Zachary Quinto's parents are both gay, just because you heard Christina Aguilera tell it to you in a dream?'"
So, yeah. Then I saw that my period had started and it was all freezing rain and mist outside, and got a phonecall canceling tonight's dinner with a friend. Maybe my subconscious had already realized I needed all the vicarious glitter I could get.:(

Also, I could totally see your dream existing as a movie. That may be bad.

Particularly sadly because I think that with this season and last season, they've actually racked up some people audiences would pay to see interact--I was sort of surprised that David Cook never turned up in my dream, for example. Disappointed, even.
You could always watch reruns before bed and hope . . .
