Hey! My contributors' copies of Mighty Unclean--the Dark Arts anthology containing a reprint of "Ring of Fire", plus "Crossing the River" (A-Cat Chatwin and the Cornish sisters do a Very Supernatural Prison Break) and "The Speed of Pain" (sequel to "The Emperor's Old Bones")--finally came through the mail yesterday, and I'm very, very happy: The book itself is both beautiful and beautifully put together, and my roster-mates are amazing people, each of whom has contributed stories which horrify, shock and amaze (far more so than mine, probably...but then again, I've been living with mine long enough that I feel like I can't really "see" them anymore).

So: Big ups to our editor, Bill Breedlove, without whom none of this would be possible. And kudos in particular to Cody Goodfellow's demented OZ-meets-Firestarter tale "The Weak Sisters Bust Out", Mort Castle's entropic/poetic Death of Marilyn Monroe meditation "I Am Your Need", and--um--everything by Gary A. Braunbeck, because I just can't choose. I can't! Gary, you're a friggin' god. A terrifying god of the dark fantastic who needs to be worshipped yet never fully appeased, for fear he cease to sow his spores at all. I do hope you're almost done with that Far Dark Fields sequel, too, young man.;)

Meanwhile, I rented Jennifer Lynch's Surveillance, which is...actually really good, seriously. She's incorporated a fair deal of her Dad's tricks, but since they WORK, so what? (I'll be interested to see if I've already twigged to the twist, too--but probably not disappointed, if so. Thus far, the journey here is definitely worth the destination.)

Barnes and Noble are out of stock on that particular item.

I plan on ordering it. It's on my list of things to order! (Including Wicked West, Vol. 2, Yet another Drupal book, and Red Trees.)

Apparently, I type with an accent. My bad.

Out of stock, eh? Well, only recently did I actually notice copies of my other books filtering around in Indigo stores once more, so...not surprising.
