So...as is well-known at this point, I've been feeling odd since Sunday. What it seems to have settled into is this weird sort of syndrome where my digestive system either isn't working well or is working too well, entirely; one way or the other, I can feel everything that goes on in rather excruciating detail. Whenever I eat, I quickly--sometimes halfway through the meal itself--move into a feeling of gross, strain-y over-sufficiency, accompanied by fatigue, light-headedness, vertigo and quease, as though all the blood was draining out of my skull into my stomach. Some kind of allergic reaction? Could I have finally broken through the maybe-I'm-lactose-intolerant barrier for good, for no apparent reason?

What would make the most sense, I guess, would be to go to the doctor. Or not. Shit, I'm just so exhausted, not least because my insomnia has been ongoing throughout--the truly awful type of insomnia which makes you question whether you've EVER been able to sleep well, or leaves you contorted into painful positions and freezing because you've kicked all the covers off in the middle of the night. Or unable to get past the fact that the stubble on your legs is hypersensitive, and you can hear every tiny wheeze your S.O. makes while breathing, every I'm-going-to-snore warning sign...

Yesterday, the agent lady finally got back to me about LILIM: Likes it, but she's more TV anyhow, and she can't take on a new client right now. Will recommend other people to approach; well, that's something. Meanwhile, American Idol is getting to where I genuinely can't appreciate anybody on it anymore, in a large part because of the fannish currents I see swirling around all of them. Kris came off looking best, mainly because he did a fairly brilliant acoustic cover of Kanye West's "Heartless"; Danny got fucked on song selection by Paula, then fucked himself on song selection by choosing the world's most boring, old-fashioned, overplayed track ("You Are So Beautiful [To MEEEEEE]", in case you're wondering). And Adam managed to over-sing both U2's "One" and Aerosmith's "Cryin'"--tell the truth, Adam, did you yoink that because Danny should've gone for it over "Dream On"? 'Cause sorry, Danny would've sung it better--in truly aggregious, ultra-theatrical style. He'll probably still win, even without the block-voting push, but whatever joy I might have gotten from the prospect of a maybe-gay Idol has long since drained away (especially since we voted in an openly-gay one just last year, nyah nyah). Pity.

OTOH, the Fringe season ender really rocked. And...I got the twist. I actually got it before "the reveal". Which isn't like me.;)

Okay, on and down. I need to figure out what--if anything--I'm doing with the rest of the day.

I will write you more tomorrow but I had to say that I am so glad your writing is being accepted YAAAYY but upset that you are feeling so bad and I can't do anything but send you ((((HHHHHHUUUGGGGSSSSS))))))). I got out of hospital yesterday morning and didn't sleep well at all, due to my body's regained enthusiasm for bleeding, which I am now attempting to suppress as best I can. Plus I have lovely leg cramps, which are helped none by the drugs given to me, mainly because they're as bitter as can be, alas! So I'm out to get aspirin that dissolves in water.

More later!

Yeah, I heard! So sorry I hadn't responded to Marcello's email as yet...but so glad your procedure went well(ish). I'll email you tonight.

Go to the doctor. I don't know you beyond what I've read on your journal in the last couple of months, but I know you're a good person and fine writer who's been under a lot of stress. When life's hard and you have options, don't hesitate to take them, if not for yourself, for the sake of the people you love.

Okay, that's my gratuitous nagging of the day. Here's hoping things look better sometime soon!

Yeah, I know you're right. Now that I've slept a bit, I'll get dressed, and set up an appointment.

From somebody who hates and waits to see the doctor, you should see a doctor.

This does indeed sound bad, but too bad to be what I have. However, I'm sure you're right about the doctor.;)

Some of what you were describing sounded similar, so I thought I'd throw that out. For whatever reason, I've had a few people with GB issues in my life, the last few years.

I have absolutely no idea, but I recommend seeing a doctor. That's kind of what they're for.

In the meantime, maybe you could also get the smallest-size bottle of lactaids (or the Life-brand generic version) and see if taking them makes a difference. They're in the stomach-remedies aisle.
