Yes, as always. Still...

Spent much of today doing absolutely necessary work--cleaning out my bag, and transforming at least some of the massive amounts of notes/crap inside into actual To Do list-material, or entries into my shiny new file of addresses and phone numbers, or even (heavens to Betsy!) genuine entries into the ever-expanding file that is Chapter Eight. I've discovered yet another scene I think I "need" to add, in order to demonstrate how the pull/tie between Reverend Rook and Chess Pargeter goes both ways, so's to speak; of course, each time I do this, the fabled beginning of Chapter Nine gets further and further away. But I'm not going to worry about that just now: Begin as you mean to go on, and then GO the crap ON. Right?

That said, I'm taking a break right now, so I can get out of here for a while--eat something, work out, make sure Cal stays sane. He's been pretty sweet, considering.

I can be patient . . .

Heh. Look on the bright side. Wednesdays don't suck near as hard as Mondays. At least not out in the open. :P

It looks like you're doing okay with your writing project. At least you recognize it needed another scene to add...most people wouldn't do that, and if they did, wouldn't add it. Keep going!

I'm beginning to think the smart thing would be to just put in "stubs", like Wikipedia does--you know, notes for scenes which should be enlarged on later, so you can move consistently further down the line without getting bogged on the details/Devil. But NO. As Steve always says: "If you'd just drop this ridiculous devotion to writing things well the first time, and bust out a classic puke-draft..."
