It's a good column. In re the matter of Marvel retconning Satan out of Damien's history: in the eighties, just before the original (Johnny Blaze) Ghost Rider series was canceled, they also retconned Satan out of his origin, and gave the job to one of their demon lords. Mephisto, I believe, but it's been a while.

Yeah, I like how generally "the Devil" has gradually slipped away from most pop-cultural narratives (aside from ones which are directly made for a Christian market, that is); probably the same impulse which has gradually phased out clumsily faith-specific shows like HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN and TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, replacing them with stuff like GHOST WHISPERER.
