BATHORY Trailer

Perhaps not the oddest ever, but still--pretty damn strange. And weirdly hypnotic. The filmmaker seems to be attempting to "redeem" Erzebet Bathory's reputation, which is a bit of a pity, since she's one of my favorite human monsters. OTOH, Anna Friel is crazy gorgeous, even with her period-accurate ultra-fake hair.

Words added: 775. An okay beginning to Chapter Seventeen, first and only thus far to be told from Chess's POV. I'm just trying to get through it all now, quickly and clearly, without rewriting as I go. But now it's time to go get my teeth cleaned.

Say: Did you know Cradle of Filth did not only an entire Countess Bathory-themed album (Cruelty and the Beast), but also an entire Gilles de Rais-themed one (Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder)? I didn't. And you know who now has both of 'em? This woman. (Ingrid Pitt plays Erzebet on the former, no surprise; for the latter, Gilles is played by Doug Bradley, which is even better.;))
