Sep. 11th, 2009 10:17 amJust have to say: It amuses me non-stop that the principal thing Supernatural fangirls are complaining about after the Season Five premiere is the fact that the show keeps characterizing them as Wincest-writing monomaniacs. There are FAR better things to complain about! (Best in show for the nutbucket brigade: "But how is the show's mainstream audience going to react to this? They're damaging themselves!" Best in show for a least a slight display of objectivity: "Listen, it only makes sense to me that since TPTB very obviously know we write fanfic of them, they feel they have the right to write fanfic of us.")
Besides which--did none of you but Steve notice that Becky the Fangirl was played by Emily Perkins (of Ginger Snaps fame)? And that she was blonde?
Anyhoo, I'm happy. Not least because somebody put together yet another massive-ass Winchesters playlist and posted it where I could get it, which means I now have all sorts of sad, weird music to choreograph what little writing I'm doing to.
And by the by, in considerably more important news: Though I understand what needs to happen, how and why, I genuinely think this is the worst time I've had writing A Book of Tongues since Chapter Eleven. Things keep on getting bigger and bigger, more complex and therefore better (or at least more sophisticated), but it's making me crazy and frightened. I need to catch up. I was supposed to be waaay further ahead, at this point.
Ugh, my mouth feels like a dead cat shit in it. Off to make coffee.
