Man, I slept a long, long time today. Again, I choose to put it down to weather and lack of light, rather than--say--depression, though I'm sure there's a shade of that hovering in there, too.
Last night's Idol was tainted somewhat by what I see as the unreasonable tide of A) inappropriate Danny Gokey hate (what do you think, ladies, he killed his fucking wife so she could serve as a prop to help him win American Idol? What an evil and masterful plan!) vs. B) almost-as-inappropriate Adam Lambert love (guess what? That "brilliant" cover of "Ring of Fire" he did was better done by Universal Hall Pass, and he is NOT the second friggin' gay coming, so get over yourselves). What annoys me about this particular fannish paradigm is that I want to like Adam, though he sometimes makes it hard, and don't want to feel bad about liking Danny, either. Perhaps as a result, however, the person who actually came off looking best in the end was Kris Allen, aka "who?", thus confirming it was a damn lame show overall. The judges also frankly seemed to be on drugs (not just Paula, as per usual), especially when they chose to spend five whole minutes ragging on Allison Irahita's clothes.
Meanwhile: Still not clockin' those words. Has the well run dry? I think I'll go watch the rest of Silent Hill, eat something, and not worry about it.
BTW: It's Autism Awareness Month in the States, as well as Poetry Month. I may post some of the latter later on, and not necessarily my own. As for the former--yes, I Love Someone With Autism. But then again, he's half me and half the guy I love/married, so I can't really help it.;)
