Just learned that my best, and one of my oldest, friends--agincourtgirl, who finally moved to Britain to be with the man she loves, a whole year after marrying him--is in the hospital. They're not absolutely certain why, as yet, but she did receive four pints of blood last night. So that puts a lot of stuff in perspective.
I agree with cristalia, who I saw after my second viewing of Watchmen, when she says that sometimes you have to pay more attention to the people you know in Real Life. Because that is where you live.
Also perhaps relevant is this (http://www.plausiblydeniable.com/opinion/gsf.html). Because even though not being your friend does not necessarily make me your enemy--I try not to have enemies, these days, because it's exhausting and counter-productive--even being your friend doesn't mean I have to agree with you whole-heartedly, either. You owe me nothing; I expect the same, and not as a courtesy.
