Project Planning, Part One
Aug. 25th, 2007 08:09 pmFinally got at least a section of my normal workout done today...Steve had some trouble with the concept of showing up fifteen minutes before a class starts, as opposed to ten minutes after...and later helped Mom go through her shoes, boots and other pedal accoutrements; she's moving soon (just across the hall, thankfully), so she wants to scale down at the rate of an hour of sorting per day. So we did that, bagged the result, shoved it inside the clothing drop-box out front of the local firehouse, then agreed I'd come back tomorrow and help with her books.
Oh yeah: Part of what she culled today was also what I like to affectionately call "the big bag of crap", which holds the remains of three of her dead-end collections--one for trademark figurines (the Little Green Sprout, the Stay-Pufft Marshmallow Man, the Poppin'-fresh Doughboy's wife, etc.), one for witches (various Disney, the Wicked... of the West, other), one for monkeys. I picked through the last category and chose three to keep--two fake netsukes and a strange little Mexican-style figurine with a smear of red across its eyes. She's suggested I spend part of tomorrow trying to sell what's left at the weekly St. Laurence Junk (I'm sorry, Antiques) Sale, which is super-kind of her, but maybe not. I think I have A) stuff to mark and B) a life, not to mention the fact that I'm already spending another portion of it C) with her, picking through her books.
(Ah, and now there's something going on which needs my attention. More on all this later...)
