Exams, all day, leading to stuff like this in the Essay Questions section:
Re Atom Egoyan's Exotica--"A movie with passion for men impulses...In Clusion, the movie hits home some men personnel desires and conflicts in relationship." (Egoyan Issues runner-up of the day, expressed through marginalia in what was supposed to be an essay on his career: "Born in Egipt, Egept, Egyept, Egypt? FUCK!")
Re some barely CanCon film called Swapped--"This film is so bad is remind me a bad student film. The only good thing is the head actress, among the others she deserve an Oscar. But she is not so good either."
Re Cronenberg's The Brood: "I personly had mixed feelings about it i mean liked it but to a certain extent. I thought it went on too long & it had scenes that didnt make no sence & didnt need to be there. but on the other hand there was murder & mayhem which is wicked cool. I think that if he cut some scenes out that didnt need to be there, and added more killing and action i probably wouldnt have fallen asleep. but overall it was an ok movie."
And FOR THE WIN (this is the entire review, BTW)--
"There is only one movie that I saw and that is cuba 2 and I didn't see the hole thing but it was a interesting movie like the way people died and got me confused one died but later on in the movie he came back and this person that he knew, he didn't know him and that is when I had to go to bed."
Later, one student showed up to explain that she'd missed the exam because her parents forced her to enter an arranged marriage over the weekend. Another guy sent email to explain that he didn't show up because his "car didn't start"--a bit of a problem, since he lives in Brantford, or some such insanity. Two hours either way. WHY?
And now, I go home. Hopefully, Steve will have remembered A) to pick Cal up from Mom's and B) that he's supposed to be passing that story-edit on to the woman who now owes us $1,500.
