Q: Is the vertigo any better?
A: Yes, a bit. The fact that I know I can take drugs and have them work is helping, even though they don't work for very long (and I can only take four pills a day, when I "need" them far more often). Doing yoga last night was surprisingly effective; I would've loved to do it again today, but got no chance to, seeing how I spent most of it following my son around and trying to make sure he didn't eat anything that might kill him.
Q: Done any work lately?
A: No. The new copy of Midnight Movies hasn't arrived, which means I can't watch it/do that interview; Deepa Mehta won't be available to talk with 'til the first week in July. I have thoughts about Blood From the Air now and then, but all I can do is write them down and hope to get to them "later", whenever the fuck that turns out to be. Also, I'm not absolutely sure what my schedule at TFS is going to be, so I'm not absolutely sure what materials to put together...smartest option at this point would probably be to assume I'm not getting Canadian Film History back, even though that pisses me off to no end, and just assemble my handouts for TV Scriptwriting and Short Screenplay accordingly. (This means I'll only be working ten hours a week, BTW, which means I'll basically be able to pay for the childcare necessary in order to go back to work, with little left over for shit like--ooh, I dunno--rent and food and stuff. But lay that by.)
Q: How was the wedding?
A: Great. Moving. Brief. Very good food. The minister really kicked ass.
Q: Anything else?
A: Mom discovered that she has iTunes on her new system, let me come over and rip a bunch of songs I wanted from her/my music library, then burn CDs from the resultant playlists. It's easy and addictive, and will free me up to dispose of the original CDs for easy cash. I also watched The Shadow again, found I still like it, and don't give a fuck what anybody else thinks. Ying Ko/Siwan Khan forever, man.
Q: How about your boss at the TFS?
A: They may have to take his leg off at the knee. OTOH, he's still alive.
