It's the day after Jason Taniguchi and Jen Judge's wedding, and I'm still very happy with the whole experience...a room choke-full of friends, two people who have seemed inevitable from pretty much the moment I first saw them in tandem uniting in the whole "holy matrimony" schtik, good food, etc. We left the boyo with Mom and therefore had to pop off early, since she had to work this morning, so no dancing for us. But since that was my sole complaint all evening, yes: Not bad at all. (It almost made up for my ex being one of the MCs/the best man, thus making him almost ubiquitous throughout.)
Meanwhile, I'm still writing. Only 345 words of connected prose today, but I've printed out 17 pages thus far and with all the notes I've also inputted, the first chapter alone is approaching 3,000. Not to mention that giddy feeling of characters starting to talk to you that's worth the entire price of admission; the breathless moments when you sudden see how a plot point will have to go and that it can't go any other way, or realize things like: "Oh YEAH, he's gay too!" (On Friday I drunkenly assured Michael Rowe (at the Horror Writers' dinner arranged by Sephera Giron, which was a blast), who was complaining that if any of us wrote a novel with an openly gay character in it no backbone horror fan would probably touch it, that I had three in Blood From The Air...and back then, it wasn't even true. But now it is. Glee!)
So now I must close off, go watch Battlestar Galactica, all that. I didn't work out today, and that's weighing a bit on my mind. But I AM WORKING, yes indeed. I feel so good, I can't even tell you.
