Yes, the little girl is me. Yes, "Baz!" is an in-joke. No, I still don't know how to make icons. But I have friends who do, and I'll be hammering at them from now on to help me in my ever-more-maniacal quest for ultimate icon-management. Or something along those lines.;)
And this will not be a long entry, because Cal's teeth are now hurting him so much that he screamed for two or so hours straight tonight; all I could do was hold him and occasionally give him Childrens' Tylenol, then turn him over to Steve. But because steve was willing to take him, I'm happy to say that I am actually over 2,000 words into a brand spankin' new draft of Blood From The Air. It doesn't look anything like the last verion, but it's moving forward at a far more rapid pace, and that's something. OH yeah.
And now I need to calm down and go to sleep myself, so that this joy may proceed apace tomorrow. In much the same way that I absolutely DO need to get Steve to hook my printer up, because now I finally have something to print out.

Cal is sitting up on the rug, playing alternately with his Tweety Bird stroller-toy and his feet; he's obviously tired, but he's not giving in. Still, quietness is good.
Meanwhile, I'm promising myself--probably stupidly--that I won't go back and check what I did last night on BFTA. Instead, I'll just keep hammering and see where we end up. My plan is to try and get through at least three parallel plot strands, using the time-honored 'Salem's Lot method of Main Character POV One, Main Character POV Two, Overview (which is actually Main Character POV Three, but won't seem like it initially. In an ideal world, that is).
I know exactly where I want both main characters to end up by the end of this section, and I already have much of both arcs broken down into prospective scenes. The Overview will probably be the weirdest shift in tone, especially when I introduce a whole whack of characters we'll probably never see again...but I think it'll work. Yeah. I really think it will.
And now it's St. Patrick's Day, which would normally cause me to once more bemoan the death of my Gangs of New York Fic inspiration. But really: Who needs fic, when you've got writing?
This can't possibly last, but God grant it does. At least until I'm at the end of Act One.
