In Other News...

...it looks like I really am going to have to have an ultrasound, because (fairly regular period last month aside) these cramps are getting out of hand, so we need to rule out ovarian cysts as a cause. I also have to re-do part of my bloodwork, because it came back as registering within a scale which would indicate I was pregnant--again, unlikely. Annoyingly.;)

By all means, get an ultrasound asap if that is the case - I was tested for pregnancy about 50 times and it always came up negative, so you may not have a cyst but something else that definitely needs attention. ((((HHUUUGGSSS))))) and YAY for your new column and general in-demandness!!!

after years of suffering with insane crampage and bleeding, (which is hereditary, my mom was the same) I went to specialist in june. she gave me some pills that really help the pain and cut down the bleeding although they make me tired and stupid.

it's either suffer with this crap or get things yanked out. I've been told for years those are my options.

I refuse to get stuff yanked out.

So I continue to bleed more than Niagara Falls and shriek with pain every month and curl up with hot water bottle. Thank god I don't have to leave the house for work on those days.

Ah, the joys of womanhood.

and i have a cyst, but not in the ovary that hurts like hell for the past fifteen years. ALthough the new specialist is the first person to AGREE WITH ME that perhaps the hideous pain is related to a clamp from my tubaligation when I was 33 because I never had it before that. And lo, yes, there is some kind of scar tissue or something going on, and that is part of the monthly nightmare.

But I won't get these parts yanked out. No sireee.

I hear nightmares about hormones and cycles and no sex drive from women who have had ovaries et al removed.

I'm with you on the no-yanking-parts, if at all possible. But I guess we'll just have to see...
