...to be expanded later on. For the nonce:

A) I'm on antibiotics. Feel much better overall.

B) Saw Cloverfield last night, really liked it, didn't sleep much. Not sure if the two are related.

C) Working on John MacLachlan Gray's The Fiend in Human, which has a lot to recommend it, except in the plot department. (Already finished Tales from Earthsea, by Ursula K. LeGuin and Find Me by Carol O'Connell, the best Kathy Mallory book so far.)

D) Interesting sympathetic parallels between Caitlin R. Kiernan's "Houses Under the Sea" (in Thrillers 2) and the Cloverfield viral marketing materials.

E) Making far too many notes on a piece of inaugeral Ben/Charlie fic for 3:10 to Yuma.

Ben Wade (Russell Crowe)/Charlie Prince (Ben Foster). What's attractive about this as a 'ship (aside from the whole Big Sexually Acting-Out Cowboys thang) is that I've finally settled on a dynamic--borne out by canon, I believe--which combines the best of Morally-Challenged Genius/Devoted Henchman with the best of Strategic Thinker Who's Willing to Do Anybody He Thinks He Could Benefit From Doing/Very Dangerous Guy Who Is Actually A Needy Bottom. Which, you know...I like a lot! As proven.;)

I'm sure you will make it disturbing and deep and perverse and awesome, as usual.

(After watching that movie I wanted to make a Charlie icon that said "Not a posse man".)

Ha! Well, I have a Charlie icon, albeit with no text on it...

I've been looking forward to Cloverfield. BTW, I've discovered the Ravelry knitting groups include a lot of horror/knitting fandoms who write things like "disappointed by I Know Who Killed Me but loved the elbow-length blue convertible gloves she wears in the stadium scene," etc...

I think you guys will like Cloverfield, though watch out for shaky-cam nausea if that's a problem for you ('cause it's shaky all the way through). The monster is...pretty Cthulhan, though not necessarily in a design sense.

As for your horror/knitting fan pals--whoo. There's a couple of tastes you don't ever imagine going together.;)
