St. Paddy's Day
Cal is sitting up on the rug, playing alternately with his Tweety Bird stroller-toy and his feet; he's obviously tired, but he's not giving in. Still, quietness is good.
Meanwhile, I'm promising myself--probably stupidly--that I won't go back and check what I did last night on BFTA. Instead, I'll just keep hammering and see where we end up. My plan is to try and get through at least three parallel plot strands, using the time-honored 'Salem's Lot method of Main Character POV One, Main Character POV Two, Overview (which is actually Main Character POV Three, but won't seem like it initially. In an ideal world, that is).
I know exactly where I want both main characters to end up by the end of this section, and I already have much of both arcs broken down into prospective scenes. The Overview will probably be the weirdest shift in tone, especially when I introduce a whole whack of characters we'll probably never see again...but I think it'll work. Yeah. I really think it will.
And now it's St. Patrick's Day, which would normally cause me to once more bemoan the death of my Gangs of New York Fic inspiration. But really: Who needs fic, when you've got writing?
This can't possibly last, but God grant it does. At least until I'm at the end of Act One.
