Tiny Updatery

Oh my God, I love Lainey at Laineygossip.com. Blame my Mom, but her off-hand take-down of Twilight fans' angst over David Slade's Eclipse (as demonstrated in the trailer which got shown on Oprah) is effin' choice. Find it here (http://laineygossip.com/Eclipse_trailer_released_on_Oprah_23apr10.aspx?CatID=0&CelID=0).

Anyhow. Just ran the absolute last piece of tax shit over--now I have to pick up Cal, get him to Surrey Place, go work out, pick him up again. Tonight: Copy-editing! For money!

"The Shrines" continues to come together. It's going to be quick, echo-chambery and nasty. My favorite kind.;)

TwiHards never cease to make me both want to hit things and laugh uncontrollably.

Is 'The Shrines' the same story as the not-Pandorum or something new? I can't remember having read about it before.

And (really late to the Near Dark discussion you had a while ago, but I only found this out recently) did you know Kathryn Bigelow had a prequel idea for Near Dark set during the Civil War?

"The Shrines" is a short story I owe someone for an anthology they asked me to contribute to. I'm hoping I'll be able to A) get it in on time and B) not make it suck too hard, but if nothing else, I guess I'll end up with a first draft I might be able to do something with later on.;)

The not-Pandorum story, OTOH, is on the back-burner, though I'm sure I'll pull it out later and work on it again. I just really need to pound some wordage on A Rope of Thorns before I can feel good about going there.

Wasn't the prequel Lance Henriksen's idea? Man, that would have been great.;))

My admiration for Mr. Henriksen increases. And I like his pottery, too.
