Second Installment

Today's A Book of Tongues character sketches are those of Reverend Rook and Sheriff Mesach Love, two men of equally screwed-up faith and gargantuan size. You'll find them at Music at Midnight, here (http://musicatmidnight-gfiles.blogspot.com/2010/02/book-of-tongues-cast-of-characters-ii.html).

Re The Burrowers: Well, yeah, they do--but A) the Indians make it pretty damn clear the people actually to blame are the whites, for over-hunting the buffalo to extinction and thus throwing the Burrowers off their natural cycle, and B) a running gag throughout is that the Indians are the only people who have a workable plan, except it keeps getting thrown off by the fact that no one else involved can understand what they're saying (even the guy who's convinced he can "speak Indian", but basically knows only a few words of degraded trade creole). The Burrowers are kind of the least anybody's problems.

As for Love--you wondered if I saw him as J.P.? Well, wonder no more!;)
