Ben might try in a really, really desperate situation. He'd be trying to mantain total eye contact and using his most compelling/believe-me-goddamnit voice, but one of his eyesbrows would be twitching like crazy. "Dan, I'm a good man. I am. Don't look at me like that. I saved your life all those times. 'Member?" And Dan would be gazing at him in horror, and Charlie would be just looking sad and pissy in the background. I'm sure he's convinced people who've only known him for a short period of time before anyway.
