...yeah, I agree. I think when I go to a con, part of why I'm there -- part -- is to
pay forward
. But "serve" is a bit facetious, since we all know the other part of why I'm there is so people will think I'm cool and smart and buy my shit.
(Mixed or complex motives! They can be positive!)
