In re the matter of Marvel retconning Satan out of Damien's history: in the eighties, just before the original (Johnny Blaze) Ghost Rider series was canceled, they also retconned Satan out of his origin, and gave the job to one of their demon lords. Mephisto, I believe, but it's been a while.
