Friday Update
Oct. 24th, 2014 11:22 amMoving quickly towards the end of "Death To Everyone," which is as it should be. In a way, I'll miss writing about these two assholes and all the other characters I've touched on, but I need to get this put to bed and bend this obsession towards something I can actually market. That said, I've had a short story accepted, and received three more contributor's copies in the last week: the physical version of Nightmare Magazine's "Women Destroy Horror" issue, Centipede Press's A Mountain Walked and The Cutting Room: Dark Reflections of the Silver Screen (Ellen Datlow ed.), so it's not like anything isn't filtering around in there. October's end also brings the beginning of that LitReactor course, so that'll be interesting: money and feedback, y'all. A bit scary, but energizng.
If you're interested in getting a glimpse inside We Will All Go Down Together, meanwhile, there's an excerpt from "Furious Angels" up at Tor.com right now, here (http://www.tor.com/stories/2014/10/we-will-all-go-down-together-excerpt-gemma-files). Missing all its italics for some reason, but it still reads fairly well, IMHO. This is the only story in the book told from the POV of Sister Blandina of the Ordo Sororum Prpetualam, an order of monster-killing nuns which pops up throughout the book, and was extremely fun to write, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Otherwise: watched some TV, reblogged a lot of shit on Tumblr, finished off a crap-load of books but made little obvious inroads into knocking down my To Be Read queue, probably because I keep adding to it intermittently. There's never enough time for other people's narratives, let alone your own.
