The Pleasures of Deadline
Nov. 5th, 2011 09:46 amSo of course I'm sick. Of course. And I just have to keep on going, regardless.
Writing news: I'm almost through Chapter Nine, and have made good inroads into Chapter Eight. My grand plan is to finish two chapters a week (over the weekend), and also start doing this thing where I try to do maybe five pages of Mammoth Chapter Thirteen every couple of days. This should help me to wrap "Savage Weapons" halfway through November and renegotiate for a couple of extra weeks on the back end in order to put "The Sixth World" together, so that the whole thing is done by halfway through December. That's the plan, anyhow.
(It'll definitely be "too big" in completed manuscript form, I know that much already. But I'm hoping it'll read well enough when I'm done that CZP will understand it needs to be this large, because I truly do think fans of the series will thank them for it.)
Cal news: We got him to sleep pretty fast--faster than last time, even. Unfortunately, even though we also took him to the bathroom at 2:00 AM and he peed vigorously, we also nevertheless discovered when we got him up this morning that he had pissed his bed yet again. Steve is all freaked out about this, because backsliding. I think we should just put him in diapers at night and see if it gets better, because washing the sheets every morning is an intense pain in the ass that's not all that great for the sheets, either.
All right. Have to go downstairs, pick up Coldwater Tide, put a duvet in to be dry-cleaned, pick up my cuffed jeans, do more laundry, get to the gym. My nose is full of liquid, and my head feels like someone's stepping on it.
