Hammering away at Chapter Four section two (760 words so far), which mainly involves moving stuff around, so should really go a bit faster--right? Right? But no, apparently. Because "fast" is not in my fucking vocabulary.

In other news, I had a very long, sexy dream about the Kray Brothers this morning. Which was weird enough, but then it also involved some sort of post-apocalypse scenario in which everybody was hiding from people/cannibals/zombies in abandoned houses, and also making porno films. As one does. I got between Ronnie and Reggie (ha ha), making them break up acrimoniously, but the split was only momentary--when Reggie, I and our child (!) were in sufficient danger, Ronnie returned to rescue us all. And we lived happily ever after, I guess, in between kneecapping zombies and nailing people's heads to the floor.

Actually, this was probably all because I discovered that the U.K. series Whitechapel recently featured a pair of twin gangsters claiming to be Ronnie Kray's illegitimate sons. Turned out their mom lied to them, but they still did a fair bit of damage before getting taken down, and the mechanics sound creepily/wonderfully similar to the original template. (They also got the same actor to play both twins, which I approve of heartily; much as I love Peter Medak's The Krays, I can never get away from the fact that Ronnie and Reggie were genuinely identical, whereas the Kemp twins are fraternal, and it shows.)

Also, I sort of want to do another Hallowe'en mix, but I'm not going to; I need to break this fucking chapter, ASAP. Eleven days and two and a half chapters to go before November.

Tonight, though, my friend Michael Rowe is having the launch for his first novel, Enter, Night. I'm bringing Dad, and I'm really excited.;) And that's it, folks! You?
