Sunday Night
Jul. 10th, 2011 11:34 pmJust finished watching The Warrior's Way, a mainly-greenscreen martial arts epic/steampunk Western, put together by a crazy mixture of Australians and Koreans (with some Americans, plus Hong Kong martial arts movie aristocrat Ti Lung). Overall a blast, pure and simple--gloriously silly and cheesy and perfect, from the deadpan uber-ninja hero to the incredibly charming baby he throws his assassin career away for. Also: A circus! Geoffrey Rush as a constantly-drunk sharpshooter! Flirting via knife-training!
The next couple of days, meanwhile, will have to be all about getting ready for Readercon. Doesn't help that I'm coming off three days of massive pool visits, though Cal certainly loved it; I'm vaguely sunburnt and stinky and overheated in general, since it's humid as fuck here, all of a sudden. And tired, overextended, sun-dazed. Still haven't done very much on the book since we last spoke, though I'm hoping to rectify that tomorrow night. I got some good ideas for the latter half of Part Two, at any rate.
Ech, I dunno. I just feel...dissatisfied with myself. Hoping Readercon will help with that somewhat; a bath would probably go a long way towards making me feel less like a literally hot mess, too. And then slush, finally.
