I made the final Bram Stoker Awards ballot, in the Best Achievement in a First Novel category!

...guess that means I really should spend the rest of the day writing, eh? As opposed to being pissy and doing chores, like I was planning.;) And also that I should probably join the HWA, like they keep asking me to...

Congratulations to all the nominees, especially my competitors: Benjamin Kane Ethridge (Black and Orange, Bad Moon Books), Lisa Morton (The Castle of Los Angeles, Gray Friar Press) and Lucy Snyder (Spellbent, Del Rey). I've only read Morton's book thus far, so I should probably go out of my way to find the others. But yeah, that's something nice to wake up to, especially when you've just finished complaining about a bunch of considerably more quotidian/less interesting crap.

We're coming up on your last chance to order the special, numbered, signed edition of A Rope of Thorns, so if that interests you, please check this out (https://www.horror-mall.com/A-ROPE-OF-THORNS-Book-Two-of-the-Hexslinger-Series-by-Gemma-Files-Signed-Limited-Edition-p-21637.html?utm_source=Horror+Mall+Weekly+Newslist&utm_campaign=8f5f12be68-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email). I understand it's a lot of dough, but the results are fairly nifty. Also, you'll get Chapter One of A Tree of Bones!
