Not a Good Trend
Jan. 7th, 2011 11:05 amToday represents the second time I've overslept due to insomnia the night before, as well as the third time I've overslept generally. Didn't work out yesterday because my body still hurt due to BodyCombat on Wednesday, which makes a one day on/skip pattern for the bulk of the week. Still, as long as I A) work out today and B) do my usual workouts on saturday and Sunday, I think this schedule is something I can learn to live with.
In slightly better news, I at least did some preliminary research for the first page of Tree of Bones, the usual Mexica/Maya/1867 calendar mash-up. As always, it's crazily accurate to what I'm trying to put together, not to mention inspirational. I'd already decided that there should be a forward skip of about three months, allowing us to rejoin the action in progress at a point where the Hex City War has been going on just long enough to make it obvious that something has to change, and soon--Pinkerton's forces are overextended, using Bewelcome as their stronghold/retreat, constantly under siege by the Enemy's monsters, the changing ecology of the area and various internal pressures. Also, though they don't know it yet, Ixchel is brewing up a weapon that will change Rook (acting as her general)'s primary strategy from defence to offence...
But I will say no more, obviously, for fear of throwing things off. At least it's breaking open nicely. Now I just have to figure out what the sexiest imagery to put in the chapter itself is, block it out, and move forward. Gotta do something 'til those edit notes come back, man.;)
Otherwise: Listening to a playlist somebody posted of songs that remind them of Rubicon, and cursing AMC for cancelling it. God, I hope it at least shows up on DVD! I suppose some things really are too smart for their own good.
