Sleepy Monday
Nov. 29th, 2010 10:35 amGot my period on Saturday, which helped and hindered in about equal measures. The good part is that with what I did over the weekend, plus what I did (thus far) today, I'm almost 3,000 words into Chapter Eighteen. Two sections completed, hoping to bust my way through a third by the time I have to pick up Cal, then do more tonight.
I worked out both days, too, and have been trying to substitute foods in order to rewire my system, hoping to lose some weight and bring my energy up. The smartest decision thus far has been to eat carrots consistently every time I'm tempted by bread-products; they're carbs, after all. They're also loaded with water, which is always useful, and fibre, which means my digestion has become considerably more productive.
Today, meanwhile, is all about protein (egg, tuna) and good fats (piece of avocado) with vegetable (mushrooms). Coffee in a small cup, one sugar. I don't feel deprived, which is the main thing. And look: I've found a whole new world of boring shit to talk about!;)
Still. The Rope of Thorns cover went out today, so I hope to have a .jpg to link to later on--I'm quite happy with it. And since part of my finishing-up process has involved going back over the book as it already stands, I'm happy to report that the rest of it does not actually reek as hard as I'd feared. It reads like a respectable first draft, and once we've cut about 25,000 words out of it, I'm sure it'll be quite presentable.
Luckily, though, I'm not going to have to worry about that in the immediate future. Because my immediate future is all about getting to THE fucking END.
