Morning After
Jun. 10th, 2010 09:55 amBig thanks to everybody who congratulated me on the agent score. (Scooooore! See? I'm Canadian.;)) Last night I celebrated by going to dinner with Bob Knowlton and Them Young Guys, Richard Gavin, Simon Stranzas and Ian Rogers. It was like a horror think-tank roundtable--every time one of us would mention something, one of the others (or two, or three) would chime in with something else, and the cross-referential squee flew fast and furious. It's always fun to hang with fellow enthusiasts.
Today, meanwhile, I'm back to the same old same old, though hopefully with a bit more intensity. Second day of my period, and things are fairly disordered internally. Nevertheless, I have high hopes that I can match whatever work I do on A Rope... with some fresh work on the new Blood From The Air outline. Notes are progress. Everything's progress.
Okay. Back to it.
Amended to add: Okay, I get that other people don't like Splice, but could everybody stop saying it contains "tentacle-rape"? There are no tentacles, just a tail with a stinger, and as far as I could tell, the only rape involved is enacted by someone probably using a penis, given they used to be a person who very clearly had a functional vagina. (I say "probably" because really-for-truly, it's all being done off-screen, so I don't know how anybody could have seen enough of the parts involved to even fool themselves into thinking there was a tentacle, but...the mind's a funny thing, isn't it? I guess you see what you want to.)
