To Sodom I Will Go/Not to Megiddo
Dec. 15th, 2009 01:04 pmSo...the latest is that I got an invitation from Readercon 2010, in which they addressed me as "Dear Estimable Literary Personage" (which in itself is pretty much enough to get me to go, 'cause I'm easy that way.;)) But the fact is, I've wanted to go for at least a year, 2009's post-con kerfuffle notwithstanding: Many people I virtually know but have never physically met seem to frequent it, plus it looks like it'd provide a damn good place/excuse to promote my book and my poetry, do readings, network, talk about stuff that is relevant to my interests, etc.
How-eva, though next year is already looking better than it did, we are generally still not in great financial straits. Therefore, if I could throw the floor open to people--fellow Canadians from Ontario, for the win--who've been to and from Readercon recently: How did you do it? How much did it cost? If you're going back, can I maybe tag along, obviously splitting expenses? (Do keep in mind that I can't drive, though, unfortunately.)
