Well, there's 1,400 words' worth less of them on my desk than before, and 750 words' worth of that went straight into The Dumb Supper, which I've promised myself I'm going to do a proper two-pager for. In fact, I may do proper two-pagers for a bunch of different stuff and send all of them off to "my" agent, since she still seems interested. Man, I really do hope she's reading the book and actually turns out to like it, because it would so rock to get out of 2009 with an agent on my side. (But then again, I should also get back on the horse re trying to find someone to rep my screenplays, and, uh...writing more screenplays, generally. Etc.)
Also: I'm definitely going to World Horror 2010, in Brighton. Of course, this necessitates booking a room somewhere (sooner rather than later), as well as finding not over-exorbitant airfare (later rather than sooner, probably). But still, it's something to work towards; I'm tentatively excited.;)
Otherwise, all is its usual glamorous mixture of vague seeg, penury and housework. Though I did watch a truly kick-ass adaptation of "Number 13" while going through all those YouTube M.R. James offerings--you can search through the same link, basically, and you'll find it. Not the one that's just Christopher Lee pretending to be James reading the whole thing to a bunch of undergrads, though that rocks too...the actual adaptation. You'll see what I mean.
Oh, and BTW, if subtlestrap happens to be reading this: I finally got all the Curve you sent me downloaded and labeled with its actual titles, so I wanted to ask--do you have a copy of anything by Scylla, particularly "Helen's Face"? All I can find kicking around on the 'Net is a demo .rar, and that's no good for me. I'd love ya long-time, even more than I already do...;))
Okay: Boy-time. See youse.
