Cracked 65,000, finally. And the first section of Chapter Ten, which just kept getting bigger and bigger (but you've heard this story before), is officially done. Now I have to do the second section, which is mainly a smackdown, so thus should go...quicker. Ha ha ha ha.
My recording went surprisingly well--the iPod with mike attachment is fairly easy to handle, and I eventually figured out how to download/save the voice memos to my home system, so I could burn them to disk. The result, tentatively called The Drowned Town (And Others), goes thusly:
"The Drowned Town"
"Verse Found Scratched Inside The Lid Of A Sarcophagus (Dynasty Unknown)"
"Ed Gein At Night"
"Speedometer"
"Jar Of Salts"
"Tantalus, Reaching Upwards"
"at the moment I am living in a haunted house"
"Thorir's Daughter Speaks"
"Last Things"
"Mensur"
"The Bird In The Hat"
"Hey, Hades"
"Claymore"
"Grandmother's Song"
"Testimony of Anne Putnam, Jnr."
"Godfather Death"
"The Deplorable Word"
As I told sovay in comments, it's a pretty bare-bones mix--cold reads, hopefully with not too much ambient noise thrown in, and I made the selections (a mixture of new pieces, plus stuff from both Bent Under Night and Dust Radio) completely on a not-so-random basis of these are poems I generally enjoy reading in public. That simple. But there are worse reasons, I suppose.;)
Anyhoo: Back to da grind. I need to clock some more words, if only to distract myself from the fact that they've turned the water off in the building 'til 7:00 PM, and I desperately need a bath.
