Miscellany
Apr. 9th, 2009 08:52 amasakiyume informs me that Not One of Us #41 is apparently available, to them as wants it; it contains my poem "at the moment I am living in a haunted house", which I'm still quite proud of. Thus the poetry icon. (I'm very much looking forward to her stuff, too...nice to get to know more of the NOoU players!)
As my Jewish friends celebrate Passover, meanwhile--one of my favorite holidays I've never actually celebrated, which I think I first learned the mechanics of by reading All-of-a-Kind Family, and which inevitably makes me think longingly of Last Things/Ma'ashith Goetim, Punisher-angel, even in the midst of A Book of Tongues--we're also fast approaching Easter weekend, which usually means some sort of celebration chez Barringers (ie, my in-laws'). So that'll be nice. What's less nice is that Monday now looms like a therapy-free dead zone, aside from Social Skills at the Geneva Centre...I may actually have to figure out ways to keep Cal occupied that don't involve just parking him in front of The Jungle Book! Maybe the park, if the weather holds.
And naturally, Mom's pushing for us to go get concentration-aiding supplements over the weekend, too--perhaps not the best time for that, given. I suppose we'll see.
Yesterday I sent off contracts for a prospective podcast adaptation of "At the Poor Girl Taken by Surprise", one of my favorite stories from The Worm in Every Heart, and will link to it if and when it gets done; the company involved is called SpokenInk, a U.K. firm, and the people they've got reading sound very impressive indeed. Otherwise, also took a lot of fresh notes, which I'll spend some time today inputting, and began to rough out the chapter structure for the next part of A Book of Tongues. I still haven't clocked a lot of direct hook-up inside of Chapter Eight, but I made my necessary 1,000 words, and every day makes me happier in terms of how the overall shape is changing: New characters, new ideas, etc. Nice.;)
All right--I'm trying to limit myself in terms of morning time-wastery, so I will bid yez adieu. See you on the other side of Thursday.
