LJ Doomed?
Jan. 6th, 2009 01:33 pmHmmm. Maybe I should go back to my Diaryland, or investigate Blogspot. Or Insanejournal, I guess...but all those options would take work, and I'm not sure I'm up to it. So I suppose we'll see what we see.
Up late, slept in long. The good part is that I have an actual business-type meeting set up for tomorrow morning with the CBC adaptation dude, that I inputted some of my notes for A Book of Tongues and The Clot (the pitch packages d'annee), and that I completed the rewrite on "The Underneath". Still haven't done the rewrite on "Hell Friend", though I think I may save that as back-up for the far more pressing issue of needing to get back on the fuckin' horse with "Strange Weight" and "History's Crust"; banker's hours and a steady word-count need to fall into place, like real soon-ish.
As ever, my biggest problem with things is figuring out where/how best to begin--with something tone-setting, or slap-you-in-the-face? Or--oh, wait--something even slappier? Doug Clegg, amongst others, is so good at picking a point to jump in that I often feel like punching him; that's why I bought a second-hand copy of You Come When I Call You, to reacquaint myself with some of his structural choices. Wellington is also probably a pretty good role-model, in terms of pacing, though Clegg and I are far more alike in terms of content/style...
But here's the truth, right? I need to jump in. Jump IN, Gemma.
The Sunken Ball-Court water's fine.
