Third Attempt
Sep. 3rd, 2008 12:30 pmI keep wanting/trying to update, then getting distracted/tired/what-have-you. Short story short, the long weekend went fairly well overall, but then I got sick again and passed it to Cal (or maybe vice versa, but at this point, who cares?). So his first day of school didn't turn out to be his first day at school after all; he's damn well going on Friday, though. Because if you can't get over a phlegmy cough after three days of home-care and driving your Mom insane, then fuck it: Let the other kids' Moms deal with this bug for a while. I'm done.
Other than that: No money. Still working on the zombie novel pitch (with careful outlining, maybe I can do it for actual NaNo...). My Dad's birthday is drawing ever closer; I made him a mix which starts with "Smile! No One Cares How You Feel" by Stephin Merritt, which might not have been the best decision, given--whoops.;) Still on the diet, feeling like I'm slimming down. Exercising off and on. My neck hurts. I've read four Jonathan Kellerman thrillers in as many days, and with every one of them, I reached that halfway point of realization where I suddenly remembered that I'd read them before (ten or more years ago, granted, but WOW). Amazing.
Oh, and I filed my first column for FearZone. This seems like a fun gig. The only "problem" is that I now want to review everything I run across, even more so than usual. Worse habits to indulge, I guess.;))
