An early Christmas present, right on the Eve: Yesterday and the day before, we had five separate episodes of Cal getting really upset because of something we'd done/not let him do/whatever and sobbing, amongst the screams and flails, "I...don...LIKE it!"

Actual sentence. Used consistently to indicate actual emotion/manding (ie, stop doing that thing I don't like). It doesn't get less impressive.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year. Solstice to all those who find "creepy Xtian" matters intrusive in much the same way that I find Richard Dawkins doing a CBC TV special which seems to consist entirely of him touring around the world, hitting various religious rituals and staring sadly around at the "idiots" choosing to waste their lives and energy on such uselessness annoying as fuck. (My fantasy these days is a scenario in which Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens try to tag-team anti-proselytize me: "But c'mon, admit it, you really don't believe in God, do you?" "None of your beeswax." "Oh, Gemma. And you call yourself an intellectual." "I've never called myself an intellectual in my whole life! Plus, none of your BEES.")

I'll probably "see" most of you guys in 2008. Stay safe.;)
