It's almost over, and I feel like I've done almost nothing. Still, this is fairly normal, for me: Break Week is usually spent decompressing, doing little or nothing, then gradually getting pissed at myself for doing little or nothing. I'm determined to get at least one damn thing done by Monday, or sooner--Chapter Five is starting to come alive for me, at last. Back to Judy's POV. I'm certainly not keeping up, but if I can get back into the swing of things, that'll be okay. Half a novel is better than none.

Last night I watched Bionic Woman--cheese, but room for improvement--and Young Guns--delicious, socipathic, just-enough-grit juvenile oat-opera pulpy cheese, which needs no improvement at all. I'd forgotten how wonderfully nuanced Emilio Estevez's Billy the Kid is, a joking killer with a genuine rage for recognition; everybody else isn't ahlf as good, but they're still damn pretty. And young. Wow! I haven't seen Kiefer Sutherland look that young since...um, about then, I guess.

In other news, you know what else cheers me up? http://www.makingfiends.com. Beautiful, Gorey-esque little tales of stick-figure demonism. I love Charlotte's dumb innocence and Vendetta's equally dumb rejection of everything soft and cuddly. Plus, the fiends! They're great. I'd buy those fiends, if you could get them in felt. (Which you probably can, so how's this: I'd buy those fiends, in felt, if I had the money, or could make PayPal work for me.)
