"Dron"ing On--Steve!
Sep. 13th, 2007 01:04 amSo…I’ve been having a lot of trouble making my quota lately, mainly because although I know pretty much what’s going to happen over the next three chapters, I’ve been struggling with how to break into them (and in what order they should appear, too, but that’s a problem for another day). Which is why I decided to switch back to "Drone" instead, and I’m happy to say that’s going extremely well. I showed what I had to one of my students, and he made some valid suggestions, which I’ve already acted upon: 778 words today, plus an overall schematic breakthrough, which puts me at 3,482 out of a prospective 5,000 or so words. I expect to be done very soon, maybe even by Friday, and to go back to Last Things then.
Of course, in and around all this, I also have to proof the edited manuscript of "Words Written Backwards"…but I’ve already gone over it once, and there are almost no changes I disagree with. I think I’ve become quite ridiculously laid back about editorial advice in my old age; my tendency is to think: Oh yeah, that’s probably better, because I’m sure I wrote that sloppily, too fast and haphazardly, using images or vocabulary far too "in" for people who aren’t me to get. I’m very happy with what Monica has done, and I will get her a good file by Saturday at the lastest.
Otherwise—sold books, videotapes and CDs at BMV, for a $175 profit (which Mom got $100 of). Cal was nuts. Steve managed to lose his own keys in our own apartment, but he eventually found them, Mom got Cal home okay, and I was able to do BodyCombat. Made that stew again. Etttttc.
Now I’m getting a bit too tired to see, let alone write. But hey, keeping up the word-count! I still feel pretty good. And no Acting Film History tomorrow—score!
