...to support the fact that I am not, in fact, dead. Things have just been fairly busy and tiring, and since I haven't been writing all that much (the poem was basically the last thing I did, though I'm hoping that will change soon), there's not too much to tell. Except that school is its usual big bag of annoy (one whole class of TP-122ers convinced themselves I wanted a reader's version script for their first assignment, even though I only wrote three things on the board last week, and one of them was Every short screenplay is a shooting script.), and Cal has fallen hopelessly in love with the new Ontario tourism jingle: "Therrrre's no place like thissss place, I knooow..." (Second place: "Trust the MI-DAS TOUCH!")

Friday we went out for Steve's birthday, saw the local horror writers' chapter--we can't actually call ourself the HWC, or whatever, 'cause most of us aren't in it--and went to Order of the Pheonix. On leaving, I found myself in the odd position of feeling that the films were getting simultaneously more and less interesting; I'm not a Potterist, never have been, and at this point, I just want to frigging know what happens. That said, not bad, though not as interesting or fun as last week's Friday movie, Paprika.

Saturday we hit a Japanese restaurant with the in-laws, then saw Mom in Shiksas Sit Shiva. Long story short, she's good, it's mainly not. Nice night out, though, and I'm glad they got to see Cal, because they usually don't. We also were able to buy [livejournal.com profile] agincourtgirl a nice wad of tempura to make up slightly for cheating her out of Friday's pay (Mom took over at the last minute). And tonight, after BodyJam, I watched Black Snake Moan. Lurid! Yet oddly restrained. All in all, some fair viewing pleasure.

Off to bed now. Ta.
