Tuesday Morning
Jan. 31st, 2006 02:16 pmI’m trying to keep track of how much time I actually spend on the Net, per visit. Last time—the time before I started writing this—it was thirty damn minutes, and it really didn’t seem like I did all that much besides look up various ‘blogs I follow. Which might tell me something right there…
Probably more to the point in terms of time-wastery, though, is my current weekly TV schedule, which runs a li’l something like this:
Saturday: Battlestar Galactica (but possibly not any more, since Steve thinks his friend Peter will soon burn us Season 2).
Sunday: Bleak House on Masterpiece Theatre.
Monday: 24.
Tuesday: Supernatural.
Wednesday: The triad—Lost/Invasion/Law & Order.
Thursday: CSI, if interesting; otherwise, catch-up night.
Friday: Nuttin’, honey.
Looking at the sheer foolish amount of hours thus given away to other people’s creativity, I really HAVE to feel a bit of a moron—particularly so when you also add on top of that the forty-five minutes per day that I need to work out, in order to feel halfway decent. This weekend was, as usual, useless in terms of anything exept chores and looking after Cal, who’s fighting off yet another snotty-nose bug that I would sacrifice black goats to Satan over, if only I actually thought he’d help me avoid catching it. However, I did also finish Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell at last, which warrants considerably more of a reaction than I'm going to give it here, at least not right this minute.
Meanwhile, I had a bit of a break-through in terms of structure on Blood from the Air, which is nice…but better yet, a guy from school has seen my spec script (By Night, the vampire road movie I write when I was 25 or so), and wants to buy/produce it. I’ve looked up the C.V. he claims, and it seems not to be bullshit, so—well, so who knows. More promising than a kick in the crotch, though.
Other good news for today: I made myself get up before 6:30 A.M. and managed to write 700 words, finishing off the most recent section of "Niemand". Tonight I’ll start the next one (Spectral Evidence). And I also finally wrote the Teaser for my Law & Order spec script. And Steve worked out! Will wonders never cease?
